It seems I’m a little behind the eight ball already. I do have a good reason, my parents have been in town for the last week, I haven’t seen them in just over 2 years so it only seemed right to spend as much time as possible with them. I can’t believe how much I missed them, but at the same time I was ready to see them off this morning at 5:00 am. Oh man I am dragging my behind at work today, I’m so not a morning person and I’m really not a wake up at 3:30 am and drive people to the airport kind of girl. I hope they realize what a huge sacrifice it was for me to crawl out of bed at such an ungodly hour.
All and all we had a great time; my parents haven’t been to the DFW area in over 5 years. So we did some tourist stuff, visited the JFK museum and the grassy knoll, the Fort Worth Zoo, the outlet mall (ohh I love the coach outlet store and as it turns out so does my mother), and South Fork Ranch (who shot JR any way?). I haven’t have a minute to upload all my snapshots from their visit but rest assured, I’ll get to that later this week if not tonight after work (shhh I’m at work right now).
The kids really seemed to enjoy spending some quality time with their grandparents, and I do love the fact that my father has no issues with taking out his false teeth and telling the girls that if they don’t brush their teeth really well, they will be like Papa and have to get fake too. I don’t think I have seen my girls run upstairs so quickly to make sure their teeth are good and clean, thanks Dad. Even my 15-year-old son took part in family outings this week; he joined us at the Zoo and went to a movie with his father and my Dad. No complaining!
Ya just gotta love family. I adore mine. For short periods of time.
